Production Processes

Our transformer production process

Winding

01

Winding

A transformer basically has two windings. The primary and secondary windings are electrically insulated from each other and from the core.

Magnetic circuit

02

Magnetic circuit

The body carrying the magnetic flux must have very low reluctance. The magnetic core is made by stacking cold-rolled, silicon-coated, grain-oriented sheets of 0.23, 0.27 and 0.30 mm.

Active part

03

Active part

The active part of a transformer consists of the elements in contact with voltage and current – mainly the windings, core, tap changer and bushings.

Tank production

04

Tank production

The transformer tank houses the core, windings and dielectric fluid and must withstand the forces applied during transport. In larger transformers it usually also provides additional structural support for the core during transport.

Drying and oil filling

05

Drying and oil filling

The active part is dried to remove moisture from the insulation material and to increase insulation resistance and breakdown voltage.

Painting

06

Painting

The finished transformer tank undergoes surface treatment and is then painted with industrial paint resistant to pollution and corrosion.
